Our Partners
Matt Callaghan, Chief Operating Officer at easyJet holidays:
At easyJet holidays, we have an ambition to make more sustainable holidays mainstream, but we know that our journey is complex and to succeed we need to learn from one another within the industry. That’s why we’re delighted to be a founding partner of ICRT global, supporting their goal to provide effective education on responsible tourism, available to all. The International Centre for Responsible Tourism has long been an organisation we admire, for their work towards more responsible tourism, their global approach to making educational materials available for all, which acknowledges the need for everyone across the tourism industry towork together for a more responsible future, and finally, their aim to democratise travel, which is something we’re passionate about at easyJet holidays.

What we are doing to support sustainability and responsible tourism
easyJet holidays is committed to making a positive impact on the people and places that make our holidays so special. We have an award-winning sustainability strategy which focuses on three key pillars; creating better holiday choices for our customers, keeping our holidays special, and transforming travel for everyone.

Focusing on these three pillars, our approach is to fund, support and partner with organisations and individuals who are making significant progress towards making sustainable holidays mainstream. We connect the scale, industry experience, and economic weight of the easyJet group to the problem solving abilities, expertise, and research prowess of others.

Through initiatives such as the launch of our industry-leading animal welfare policy, educational programmes to support our hotel partners in achieving GSTC certified accreditation, our trial scheme with Winnow AI to reduce food waste in the kitchen of one of our hotel partners, and our work with UN Tourism to create the first Environmental, Social and Governance framework, we’ve made significant progress towards making sustainable holidays mainstream.

Why we are supporting ICRT global and how their work aligns with ours
ICRT global is committed to improving education and knowledge sharing on sustainable tourism around the world. At easyJet holidays, education has been an effective enabler of much of our progress, such as supporting our hotel partners with training courses to achieve GSTC certification, leading to the significant growth of our Certified Sustainable range. This is one of the key reasons we’re supportive of the of ICRT global’s training courses, bespoke training, and dedicated manuals and guidance to provide education for the industry.

At easyJet holidays, we also know there is always more we can be doing, and we ensure we’re always honest, approaching our journey with humility. ICRT global’s approach to being transparent about what they achieve towards making tourism better is an important part of our partnership, and will contribute towards a fruitful partnership.
