How to Win An Africa Award

The webinar will be held on 20 February at 11am CAT and will be led by Harold Goodwin, founder of the International Centre for Responsible Tourism global and chair of the judging panel. He will outline the 2025 award categories and highlight the entry criteria for each.

During the webinar Dr Adama Bah, chair of the Institute of Travel and Tourism of The Gambia will give examples of previous winners and why they were considered innovative and replicable to inspire others.

Julie Cheetham, a former winner and judge of the WTM Africa Responsible Tourism Awards and now chief operating officer at the charity Travalyst will describe why winning an award matters and insight into the lessons she learnt as a judge.

Website moderator and chair of ICRT global Debbie Hindle will explain how gold winners of WTM Africa then go onto contend for a Global Responsible Tourism Award, sponsored by Sabre.

Megan De Jager, portfolio director for RX Africa said: “We know great work is being done throughout Africa and we are looking for entries from throughout our great continent.
