What are these awards and who can apply?

The Responsible Tourism Awards have been running for more than 20 years to identify best practice in Responsible Tourism from around the world. They are free to enter but hard to win. The judges can only choose from amongst those that enter. If you know of businesses, destinations, or organisations that should enter.

The Responsible Tourism Awards worldwide are open for entries from candidates outside the existing ICRT network eg for projects or organisations in:

North America,
Canada
The Middle East,
Caribbean,
Indian Ocean,
Pakistan and Afghanistan
Central Asia
East Asia
Australasia

The existing ICRT network regional Responsible Tourism Awards currently operate in

WTM Africa and ICRT Africa Responsible Tourism Awards
ICRT Indian Subcontinent Responsible Tourism Awards- including India, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Bhutan, Bangladesh
ICRT Europe Responsible Tourism Awards
ICRT Southeast Asia Responsible Tourism Awards including – Brunei, Cambodia, East Timor, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam
ICRT LATA Latin America Responsible Tourism Awards

Please note if your project operates in one of these regions you must enter these specific regional awards, not the Responsible Tourism Awards worldwide.

How do I enter?

TO ENTER: the 2026 Responsible Tourism Awards worldwide please register here 2026 RT Awards pre-registration – ICRT GLOBAL Once registered you can download the relevant application form and your completed application can then be uploaded at any time before Tuesday 30 June 2026.

Winners will be announced in a virtual ceremony in August 2026.

A win at a regional level means competing on a global stage

Gold winners of the regional Responsible Tourism Awards worldwide then automatically go onto compete on a world stage for a Global Responsible Tourism Award. The same application form is used so no further work is required from applicants. But the submissions of all Gold winners from around the world are judged together in consideration for a Global Responsible Tourism Award.

The 2026 Global Responsible Tourism Awards are announced in London in early November and the event is also screened live and recorded.
