Make Tourism Better

LATA Awards Open

The Latin American Travel Association (LATA) has opened applications for the LATA Responsible Tourism Awards. These accolades celebrate the best of the Latin American travel industry with all winners announced at LATA Expo in June.

Danny Callaghan, CEO of LATA said: “At LATA, we truly believe we should be shouting about the incredible work that is being done across the Latin American travel industry, and we want to celebrate and recognise those achievements. We are pleased to be hosting the LATA Responsible Travel Awards for the second year running and welcome applications from non-LATA members as much as our own community for these awards.”

The LATA Responsible Tourism Awards champion responsible, ethical and sustainable tourism practices across Latin America. The primary goal is to discover, acknowledge and highlight initiatives that can be replicated and scaled across the region. The prestigious awards showcase exemplary businesses, projects and destinations that are delivering measurable impact and pioneering innovative solutions.

The awards are a part of LATA’s activity to show a commitment to sustainability. Judging the awards will be Harold Goodwin, Founder of ICRT global and co-founder of The Responsible Tourism Partnership, Anne-Kathrin Zschiegner, Director of The Long Run, Chris Haslam, Chief Travel Writer at The Sunday Times, Edgar Weggelaar, CEO of Queer Destinations, Maria Emilia Correa, Co-Founder & Senior Strategist at Sistema B, Quinn Meyer, Founder of CREES Manu in Peru and Gold Winner of a Global Responsible Tourism Award 2024 and Megan Parkinson, Head of Sustainability at LATA.

The gold winners of the LATA Responsible Tourism Awards 2025 will be automatically entered into the Global Responsible Tourism Awards.

• The awards are now open, and all entries should be submitted via the website by 6pm (GMT) on 11 April 2025.
• The LATA Responsible Tourism Awards are open to all organisations working in Latin America, including non-members.
