Jane Ashton joins the board of ICRT global

The International Centre for Responsible Tourism global (ICRT global) today announced that Jane Ashton, one of the tourism sector’s most respected sustainability leaders and formerly director of sustainability at TUI Group and easyJet holidays, has joined its Board of Directors.

Jane brings more than two decades of experience driving sustainability strategy across major international travel organisations.  Her appointment strengthens ICRT global’s mission to expand global knowledge, evidence-based practice and professional training in responsible tourism.

Speaking about her appointment, Jane Ashton said: “ICRT global and founder Harold Goodwin have played a defining role in shaping the global responsible tourism movement. Its commitment to evidence, transparency and practical solutions is exactly what the industry needs at this critical moment. I am honoured to join the board and to support work that empowers destinations, businesses and communities to deliver tourism that genuinely creates better places for people to live in and better places for people to visit.”

Debbie Hindle, chair of ICRT global, welcomed the appointment, saying: “Jane is a hugely experienced and respected sustainability leader in global tourism. The ICRT global board now comprises Jane Ashton, Adama Bah, Institute of Travel and Tourism of the Gambia and ICRT West Africa, Martin Brackenbury former UN advisor and International Federation of Tour Operators,  Manisha Pande, Village Ways and ICRT India Caroline Warburton, VisitScotland, Quinn Meyer Crees Manu and Debbie Hindle.
